Manchester United reportedly favourites to sign this midfielder

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Premier League giant Manchester United are favourites to secure the services of Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic.

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has secured two major signings so far this summer by acquiring the services of Victor Lindelof and Romelu Lukaku from Everton for huge money, and the former Chelsea tactician is now looking to sign a new midfielder to make his team capable of competing for the Premier League title during the upcoming season.

A host of big names such as Marco Verratti, Renato Sanches, Toni Kroos and Eric Dier have naturally been linked with a transfer to Old Trafford over the past weeks, but one rumour which seems to carry some weight behind it is United’ interest in Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic.

It is thought that Manchester United have already held discussions with the Blues over the potential signing of the midfielder this summer but having failed to agree on a fee, it seemed like the Serbian would move to Serie A champions Juventus instead as the Serie A side are said to have shown a ‘more authentic’ interest.

Gianluca Di Marzio has now revealed that the Serie A Champions have cooled their interest in the Chelsea man by targeting a transfer for PSG’s Blaise Matuidi instead and this has allegedly allowed the Red Devil to become favourites to sign Nemanja Matic as they look to restart talks with Chelsea.
