Man United Confident Of Winning Race For Spaniard Keyman Despite Real Madrid’s Interest

Manchester United have halted contract talks with David De Gea after Real Madrid relaxed their transfer efforts to sign the Spaniard, according to reports.

The 26-year-old was tipped to make an audacious move to Santiago Bernabeu earlier this summer with reports that he wanted to return to Spain.

Prior speculations have it that United were ready to offer the Spanish keeper a new mouth watering wage to fend off interest from Real.

However, reports in the Sun claim that Real Madrid are dragging their feet on the transfer and Manchester United have shelved new contract talks with De Gea.

It is understood that Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane is contented with the performances of Keylor Navas and will not move for De Gea this summer.

Manchester United are said to be confident that their number one will not quit the Old Trafford this summer and will halt their talks of offering the shot-stopper a staggering £200,000 to remain with them.

Both keepers showed solidity and composure in between the sticks for their respective sides in Macedonia on Tuesday night and Mourinho believes De Gea will remain at the Old Trafford for the foreseeable future, the United boss even came out to claim that he is confident that the keeper will not move to Real Madrid this current transfer window.
