Just when things were looking gloomy for City, Kelechi Iheanacho scored an equalizer making the match at full-time: City 1-1 Southampton.
The fans at Etihad stadium felt the tension when Southampton scored the first goal in the 27th minute. Iheanacho was introduced in the 46th minute and finally removed the shame from the club ‘s face at the 55th minute.
Iheanacho swept in Leroy Sane’s square ball after the midfielder was found with a brilliant long ball from Fernandinho. He played on, showing purpose, tenacity and strength as he kicked the ball in the net. as he beat Saints defender Virgil van Dijk to Sane’s cross and prod in the equaliser.
This is Kelechi Iheanocho’s 4th goal in 7 matches.
This is the fifth time Guardiola will not win any of his matches which either results to a draw or an outright loss.
As at table standing, Mancghester City has earned one point to make them remain table leaders while Southhamption will remain number 8.
