Liverpool’s Target Barella Favours Premier League Transfer Over Italy Stay

Cagliari Calcio midfielder Nicolo Barella is in favor of a move to the Premier League at the expense of staying in the Italian top flight.

This is according to the publication from Italian media platform Gazzetta Dello Sport which claimed that the player is ready to snub the chance to stay in the Italian Serie A for the Premier League.

Napoli and Inter Milan are keen on the young Italian international midfielder but it seems like they will miss out on him to Premier League clubs with the latest development.

Nicolo Barella has emerged as one of the best midfielders in the Italian top flight since he broke into the Cagliari first team two seasons ago.

Premier League sides like Manchester United, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool have been touted as possible transfer destinations for Nicolo Barella though the Italian player could tilt towards the Blues due to the influence of both Maurizio Sarri (manager) and Gianfranco Zola (assistant manager).

Ex-Napoli boss Sarri and his assistant Zola are pushing for Barella to sign as the Blues continue to search for a quality replacement for Cesc Fabregas.

Spanish midfielder Fabregas left for struggling French Ligue 1 outfit AS Monaco earlier in this January transfer window.
