Good News And Bad News For Liverpool Fans After Maribor Win

Liverpool were able to win Maribor 3-0 at Anfield on Wednesday night, and are still sitting top of their Champions League group.

After conceding 7 goals two weeks back during the first leg at Slovenia, Maribor chose to play defensively at Anfield on Wednesday, which made things so difficult for the Merseyside club in the first half.

Liverpool struggled to break through the Slovenian champions in the first half, but Mohamed Salah, Emre Can and Daniel Sturridge were all able to score in the second half to earn all three points for Jurgen Klopp.

The German boss provided an update on Philippe Coutinho’s injury after the win, and he admits the Brazilian playmaker is unlikely to play in the premier league clash against West Ham on Saturday.

Additionally, Dutchman Wijnaldum is also expected to miss the game against the Hammers as well. He was substituted early on in the game against Maribor after picking a knock on his ankle, and it was reported that scans will be made very soon to determine the extent of the injury.

Klopp will hope both stars will recover as soon as possible, especially Countiho.

But the good news is that, the likes of Adam Lallana and Sadio Mane are expected to be back to full fitness after the international break.
