Not Hazard – Another Chelsea Star Set To Miss Chelsea Pre-season As Transfer Gets Closer

Spanish striker Diego Costa has remained unsettled at Stamford Bridge after being asked to leave the club this summer.

And as Chelsea prepares for pre-season training, it is understood that the forward is not expected to link up with the premier league champions as his transfer to Atletico Madrid draws nearer.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has made it clear to the huge striker that he doesn’t have him in his plans for next campaign, and Costa is keen to return back to Atletico Madrid.

The Spain international was Chelsea’s top scorer last term and helped the Italian manager win the Premier League title in his first campaign at West London and in England. He almost helped the blues have their hands on the FA Cup trophy after equalising their 1-0 deficit at the Wembley Stadium, but the gunners eventually emerge victors at last.

Spanish news outlet Marca said there are some progress in regards to Costa’s move back to Atletico Madrid, and that the Stamford Bridge club are almost done with replacing him with Everton forward Romelu Lukaku.

Atletico Madrid are still serving a transfer ban, but it does not technically hinder them from making signings this summer. However, they are not permitted to register new legs in their squad until the ban expires in the middle of the season.

So, it is thought that Diego could be loaned out immediately Atletico signed him.
