According to Sky Sports, Everton have accepted a £75m offer for Chelsea target Romelu Lukaku from Premier League giant Manchester United.
The Belgium international striker had been heavily linked with a return to Stamford Bridge this summer transfer window, but it looks like the 24-year-old will rather join former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho at Manchester United.
The Manchester United boss had been in the market for a replacement for departed Swede, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and negotiation had been held with Spanish giant Real Madrid over the availability of Spain forward Alvaro Morata.
But this latest development we understand has brought an end to their interest in signing Morata from Real Madrid.
Lukaku is expected to have a medical later in the week with the hope of joining his new teammates early enough for their tour of the United States next week. The goal poacher scored 25 goals in the Premier League last season.
Manchester United players are due back in training on Saturday before flying off to Los Angeles, USA, on Sunday.
The Belgian’s deal is not connected with Wayne Rooney’s switch to Everton. Rooney is heading back to Everton after a successful stint at United, and re-joining the club he left back in 2004 in his teens.
