Did Dele Alli make the right decision joining Tottenham over Liverpool?

England attacking midfielder, Dele Alli moved to Tottenham Hotspur in 2015 from MK Dons despite interest from Liverpool and also his love for the Reds legend, Stephen Gerrard.

However, since joining Tottenham Hotspur over three years ago, Dele Alli has established himself as one of the premier league best-attacking midfielders.

So far Dele Alli has made 153 appearances for Tottenham with 43 goals to his name, his performance has also earned him a spot in the English national squad under coach Gareth Southgate.

But what would have happened to Dele Alli if he had moved to Liverpool instead?

According to former Liverpool and Tottenham midfield star, Danny Murphy, he believed the 22 years old midfielder made the right decision by moving to Tottenham.

Danny Murphy hinted that the English midfielder wouldn’t have achieved much at Anfield.

He said Tottenham Hotspur gave Dele Alli a platform every week to progress as a young lad coming out of the lower leagues.’

The former Reds star stressed that had Dele Alli moved to Liverpool he wouldn’t have played as many games as possible which helped him develop.

Danny Murphy also applauded Tottenham Hotspur coach, Mauricio Pochettino for believing in the young midfielder and also investing in him.
