Ever since they sold Phillipe Coutinho to Barcelona few days ago, Liverpool have been linked with a handful of superb players to fill any void meant to be opened by the Brazilian superstar.
One of the players linked repeatedly with a move to Anfield is Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez.
Some days back, there were widespread speculations that the Algerian international has held talks with Liverpool and transfer terms were discussed in the meeting.
More recently, there are new claims that the African star player is trying to push himself out of Leicester City and has held talks with the club’s president – who given him the go-ahead.
According to the reporter, although manager Claude Peul is trying to persuade Mahrez to remain with him at the club, the talented player has made up his mind to leave the King Power Stadium.
Riyad helped the foxes with the premier league trophy in the 2015-16 campaign when Claudio Ranieri was still boss at the club.
This season so far in 22 premier league starts for Leicester City, he has directly contributed to 15 goals.
Riyad is a talented player who will definitely add more quality to Jurgen Klopp’s team if Liverpool can do all it takes to bring him down to Anfield.
