Chelsea Takes Big Step To Sign Talented Player From Premier League Club

Leicester City player Danny Drinkwater has emerged as a surprise target for Chelsea this summer, and he appears destined to play at Stamford Bridge next season.

According to new reports, the premier league champions have taken the big step informing Leicester about their interest in the player, and that they can’t pay more than £30M to secure his services.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is understood to have an interest in bringing in another midfielder to his squad this summer after letting Nemanja Matic reunite with Jose Mourinho at Old Trafford. And English midfielder Drinkwater has been identified as a good option.

The England international shone at his club in the 2015/16 premier league campaign, forming a strong partnership in the middle with Frenchman N’Golo Kante and helping Leicester win the title, to the astonishment of the world.

Kante moved to Chelsea the following summer, and right now, it appears Drinkwater could be together with his former teammate again. It is understood that the England international is excited about the idea of moving to a bigger club in Chelsea.

However, the Sun reported that Chelsea are interested in bringing him over to Stamford Bridge, they won’t pay his club anything more than £30M to secure his services.

Apart from Danny, Chelsea are also linked with Everton’s Ross Barkley after manager Ronald Koeman revealed they have no intention of blocking the player from leaving Goodison Park this summer.

Barkley’s contract at Everton will expire next year, The Toffees are expected to sell him for a cheap price instead of losing him on a free transfer.
