Manchester United set to hijack Radja Nainggolan from Chelsea grip

Premier League giant Manchester United could do well to complete the transfer of Serie A giants AS Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan as an option at wing-back position, as reported by former English Premier League star Shaka Hislop.

The former Premier League goalkeeper, who played for teams like London club West Ham, Newcastle and Portsmouth during his playing time in the English Premier League, suggested Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United could sign him to do an upgrade on their left-hand side position.

Despite playing a number of formations this Premier League season, Manchester United followed the latest trend of using wing-backs in this week’s UEFA Champions League victory at CSKA Moscow in faraway Russia. Defender Daley Blind played the left wing-back role on that day, but Shaka Hislop believes Radja Nainggolan could be an ideal left back option to play that kind of trendy role, despite his natural central midfielder role.

The Red Devil’s were recently linked with the Belgium international midfielder, who has shone brightly in the Italian Serie A but who does not look like the most necessary signing given Manchester United’s current options in the centre midfield.

Hislop told ESPN he is surprised that not one of Europe’s top sides have come in for the player, it shows that he is clearly happy at Roma.
