Chelsea Loanee Unsurprised By Man City Interest In Atletico Teammate

Atletico Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is not surprised by the reported interest of Premier League champions Manchester City in club and international teammate Saul Niguez.

Earlier reports had claimed that Manchester City are ready to spend as much as €80m in summer, in their bid to secure the transfer of Spanish international Saul Niguez from Atletico Madrid.

Manchester City have made the signing of a new midfielder top priority ahead of this summer’s transfer window and Saul Niguez is the latest midfielder to be linked with a move to the Etihad Stadium.

Other midfielders like Ruben Neves (Wolverhampton Wanderers), Frenkie De Jong (Ajax Amsterdam) and Declan Rice have been linked with the Premier League champions in recent weeks though the aforementioned De Jong has already agreed on a deal to join Spanish champions this summer.

Morata spoke about Saul Niguez and Manchester City in his latest interview while the former Juventus attacker is on Spanish national team duty.

According to him, Saul Niguez has the quality to play for the best clubs on the European football scene and it’s not surprising that he’s been linked with Manchester City.

Alvaro Morata joined Spanish giants Atletico Madrid on loan in January till the end of next season with the option to make the transfer permanent in 2020.
