Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas is on the verge of leaving the club if media reports in Italy are anything to go by.
The 31-year-old could leave the club when the transfer window reopens in the next few weeks.
Reports coming out of Italy claim that seven-time European champions AC Milan are closing in on a transfer for him.
It was also revealed that the Spaniard has been offered a two-and-a-half year deal until the end of the 2020/21 season.
Italian Serie A giants AC Milan have repeatedly been linked with a move for the former Barcelona player.
AC Milan are said to be in the transfer market for midfield reinforcements following the respective injuries to the duo of Giacomo Bonaventura and Lucas Biglia.
Both Biglia and Bonaventura are not expected to be back in the AC Milan squad until at least the New Year.
Milan sporting director Paolo Maldini has already talked about the club’s bid to sign both Fabregas and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
He talked about the two players in an interview with Sky Italia.
Cesc Fabregas has six months left on his Chelsea deal but Milan are ready to move for him in a cut-price deal rather than wait to sign him as a free agent in the summer.
