Chris Sutton Mocks Reported Liverpool Bid For 66-goal Forward

Celtic legend Chris Sutton has laughed off reports that Premier League giants Liverpool are eyeing a bargain transfer for one of the clubs key players.

It was earlier reported that Liverpool want to sign Celtic winger James Forrest for £8m.

Ex-Celtic striker Chris Sutton gave his reaction to the publication from the Scottish Sun via his official Twitter handle as he mocked the reported transfer fee for a player that’s a key part of the Celtic squad.

James Forrest is a Scotland international that rose through the ranks at Celtic before making his debut for the Europa League campaigners in 2010.

Since his Celtic debut, the 27-year-old has scored 66 goals in 315 games for the Scottish champions.

In addition, James Forrest has netted five times for the Scotland national team in 26 appearances.
Liverpool fans would be hoping they can get another bargain deal with James Forrest just like what was obtainable in the transfers of Andy Robertson and Xerdan Shaqiri.

Forrest’s international teammate Andy Robertson is the undisputed first choice left-back at Liverpool following his move from Hull City in a deal worth £8m.

For Shaqiri, the Swiss international forward has been an important player for Liverpool since his transfer to the Reds last summer for just £13m.
