Almost done – German side place hefty price tag on Arsenal bound forward

Arsenal are desperately keen on signing striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund this winter, but the German outfit will not let their best player go cheaply.

As per a report from German publication Kicker, as quoted by the Mirror, the Dortmund will request a fee of about €70 million for the Gabon forward.

The African has proved to be a controversial player at the side. The striker has been omitted from the side’s squads on several occasions this campaign for disciplinary reasons and was dropped from the squad’s trip to German side Hertha Berlin on Friday.

The Gunners are looking to sign Aubameyang to replace Chilean international forward Alexis Sanchez, who looks to be poised to seal a transfer to Manchester United in a matter of days.

Arsenal have been actively discussing with the German side over a transfer move for the forward but it seems they will need to pay a club-record transfer fee if they are to sign him this month.

The forward has reportedly dropped a hint that he’s interested in taking Alexis Sanchez‘s No.7 jersey at the club.

The 28-year-old was not named in Dortmund’s squad which drew with Hertha Berlin yesterday night and, was caught playing a match indoor with pals while the German Bundesliga encounter was going on.
