Arsenal set to offer forward in deal to bring in quality 28-year-old striker – report

Arsenal are reportedly set to offer Frenchman Olivier Giroud to German side Dortmund as part of a swap deal to bring in Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang this New year, as reported by British media.

The Independent is reporting that Arsenal are considering the likelihood of selling the France international striker to try and make sweet the deal for the Bundesliga side to offload the Gabon international striker.

The Gunners have been linked with a transfer move to land the 28-year-old Dortmund star recently, although Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger refused to confirm the side’s interest a week ago.

The same report states the Gunners are in negotiations with the German side about the possibility of landing the African, with Dortmund initially asking for a fee of as big as €70milliom.

Arsenal are allegedly not interested in paying that huge and therefore are looking at other options, including the likelihood of involving Olivier Giroud as part of the transfer deal.

The same story states that the Bundesliga side, however, are “reluctant” to lose their top striker in the winter transfer window.

The forward has been in brilliant form so far this campaign, netting 13 goals and providing three assists in 15 German Bundesliga matches this season.

Meanwhile, the Gunners are currently getting set for their home League match against Crystal Palace at The Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
