Barcelona Transfer: Four Time Balon D’or Speaks With Man city In-Door

Report making the round from British press that La-Liga star Lionel Messi has been holding secret talks with premier League giants Manchester city.

It was reported on Tuesday that the 28 year old and his entourage have been carried away by the financial terms the city are willing to offer for the services of messi coupled with a Premier League new record TV deal.

International TV rights due to be finalized before Christmas are also set to almost double the £5.14bn domestic deal. That means United and City, just by finishing in the top four, would earn £220m a season — or £660m EACH — over the TV agreement’s three–year time-frame.

Messi would cost City at least £150m and even that’s optimistic as his buyout clause is reported to be £174.2 million , and the Catalans will not be keen to sell according to reports from Daily Telegraph.

The buyout clauses are subject to taxation, which can be high as 25 percent, per ESPN FC’s Graham Hunter, and you could end up with possibly a transfer fee of well over £200 million. And that’s before Messi’s weekly wages have even been paid―another £1 million per week, according to Lawrence.

The figures sound so ridiculous but Manchester City will be able to take up the deal according to Lawrence.
