Arsenal tipped to win race for Dortmund star

North London side Arsenal tipped to win the race for the signatures of German Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund midfielder Julian Weigl, reports German daily BILD.

Weigl is believed to be on his way out of the German side having fallen out of favour with limited playing time this season following the arrival of Axel Witsel and Thomas Delaney who both play his position.

The current ordeal of Julian Weigl has not stopped him from interesting a number of English Premier League clubs including Liverpool, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City and they are all lined up for his signatures.

But the North London side are tipped to win the race and it would be a plus knowing that they are set to lose Aaron Ramsey and Mohamed Elneny as central midfielders.

There is no doubt that a deal would interest Julian Weigl knowing that space has been created already in the team.

Gunners are being encouraged by the fact that their head of recruitment Sven Mislintat has had a relationship with Dortmund and the club already held transactions for Sokratis Papastathopoulos and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in recent times.

Weigl’ s current contract runs till 2021 at the German side and there is no hope he will see out his years with the club.
