Chelsea and Spain international midfield maestro Cesc Fabregas has said that former Chelsea boss and current Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho was his enemy until he played under the Portuguese at Stamford Bridge.
Jose Mourinho signed the midfield maestro from La Liga giant Barcelona back in 2014 and he played under him for a term and a half before the Portuguese tactician was eventually sacked by the Blues.
Cesc Fabregas had always played for Mourinho’s rival teams and he admits it took until the two sportsmen worked together before he finally appreciated him.
Cesc told he told Vanity Fair, “Jose Mourinho? He [Mourinho] was my enemy when he was in [Real Madrid] Madrid or Chelsea.”
The West London club won the English Premier League during Fabregas’ first campaign at the Bridge and the Spain international added a second to his title cabinet the last term under Italian Antonio Conte.
Now at rival club Manchester United, Jose Mourinho is aiming for his fourth Premier League title on England soil.
The two Premier League heavyweights come face-to-face at the Bridge on November 5.
Following this week’s UEFA Champions League matches, both sides return to Premier League action this weekend, as the Blues host Watford and Mourinho’s men visit Huddersfield.
