Arsenal suffer major transfer blow in pursuit of £60m target

According to The Daily Mail, Arsenal were linked with a move for £60million Lyon star Nabil Fekir, as they prepare for life without German Mesut Ozil and Chilean Alexis Sanchez who will both have their contracts run out at the end of the campaign.

Reports in the Spanish media states La Liga giant FC Barcelona have already started negotiations with the 24-year-old talent as they look to move in ahead of other suitors and snap up the France international.

The Frenchman has been in great form so far this campaign, netting 12 goals in 15 matches in all competitions, while the player also made three assists, with 11 of those goals-assists coming in 11 league matches.

In turn, there’s surely been enough to show for his form this year to believe that he has a lot of talent, but the issue will be stepping up to a European giant like La Liga heavyweight Barcelona or Premier League giant Arsenal, should a transfer materialize next year.

Notwithstanding, if the Gunners were truly interested in Fekir, then they’ll have their work reduced for them now with Barcelona are entering the fold, according to the report above.
The Catalan club have started the League season really well with manager Ernesto Valverde making a good impact in his first season in charge.
