Arsenal slam Barcelona over £14m demand for star player

It has been alleged that North London outfit Arsenal have told Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona that it will not pay £14 million fee for Denis Suarez in this winter transfer window.

It is no longer news that the Gunners are keen on the star player who is expected at the Emirates Stadium but they have been told they will have to meet the asking price or risk losing out on the player according to reports.

The North London side are seeking to replace England international Danny Welbeck who is out of the season due to injury and might not return as an Arsenal player.

On the other hand, Denis Suarez who had a fantastic loan spell under Gunners manager Unai Emery in his days at Spanish La Liga side Sevilla is struggling to make secure a starting role with the Spanish and he is keen to leave to where he would be able to fit in.

However, latest report claims the Gunners are ready to hand him an escape route but they will not meet with the asking price for the player, according to a Spanish journalist Edu Polo.

The journalist stated that there are only two choices for Denis Suarez which is to move to Arsenal or stay at Barcelona.
