Arsenal pursuit of versatile midfielder could come to an end

There are indications that Arsenal’s pursuits of German Bundesliga outfit Borussia Dortmund versatile midfielder Julian Weigl could come to an end after reports that they will not be allowed to leave the club.

Reports according to Calciomercato reveal that the North London club have identified Julian Weigl, alongside Delaney, Witsel and Dahoud as the backbone of the club and they cannot be allowed to leave.

The North London side are joined by Italian Serie A side AC Milan and AS Roma as suitors for the player who has now fallen out of favour in the Borussia Dortmund team which makes him consider leaving the club.

The Gunners are keen to add more options to their team with Wales international Aaron Ramsey set to leave the club at the end of the season after failing to agree on a new deal.

There are indications that the German Bundesliga side would be forced to allow Julian Weigl to leave the club as he no longer makes the starting XI of the team.

Meanwhile, the Gunners will focus attention on defenders as well knowing that they have lost Rob Holding in addition to the unconvincing performance of the club in defending despite scoring many goals.
