Arsenal Can Beat Anybody On Their Day, Former Gunner Reveals Ahead Of UCL Round Of 16 Draw

Former Arsenal player Charlie Nicholas has stated that the Gunners can beat any team on their day after they secured top spot in Group A of the UEFA Champions League (UCL) with a 4-1 away win over Swiss champions FC Basel and all attentions have immediately switched to who they get in the Round of 16, which has proved to be the last bus stop in the competition for Arsene Wenger’s side.

Speaking on his former side whom he spent five years with from 1983-1988 on popular news channel Sky Sports, Charlie Nicholas said the North London side don’t have to fear anybody. He said:
When Arsenal are a club with fluency and momentum, they are as good as anybody”

“They’ve beaten Barcelona in the past and they can beat any of the top sides, but can they do it consistently?

“It’s looking as if they are much tougher.

“They are much more up for the fight and it is all good news for Arsenal.”

Arsenal were able to seal top spot after group rivals PSG slipped up as a result of their 2-2 home draw with Bulgarian champions Ludogorets Razgrad but could still meet European heavyweights such as Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.
