Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is reportedly closing in on being named the new Inter Milan manager.

According to Sky Sports, Conte will soon be confirmed as the new Inter Milan manager as from next season.

Current Inter Milan boss Luciano Spalletti is expected to leave the Italian Serie A giants after a disappointing season.

Luciano Spalletti led Inter Milan to a disappointing group stage exit in the Champions League before masterminding the last 16 elimination to German Bundesliga giants Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League.

In addition, Inter Milan have struggled to secure their spot in next season’s Champions League.

Inter Milan have won just one out of their last five league games ahead of the final match of the season, a home game against relegation threatened Empoli.

The San Siro giants occupy the fourth and final spot for Champions League football ahead of the final set of games in the Italian Serie A.

Antonio Conte is free to take up a new job after the last year of his Chelsea contract runs out this summer.

Chelsea have reportedly paid £9m for the last year of the said contract.

Conte was relieved of his managerial job at Chelsea last summer with one year left on his then contract.
