Chelsea boss gives club chiefs one condition before extending deal

Antonio Conte says he is ready to start negotiations about a fresh contract extension at the Bridge but would like a statement of support from the Board amid recent rumours that he could be sacked.

Fumbling Premier League champions

The Blues has been through unexpected losses in games this campaign, most recent is the 3-0 home defeat to AFC Bournemouth and this led to the team dropping to the fourth spot on the Premier League log.

There have been severe tensions between the club board and the Italian tactician since the beginning of the transfer market and situation have not seemed bright at the club as the former Juventus boss could not land most of his primary targets while blaming the Board.

Vote of confidence

Although the former Italy boss led the side to the English Premier League crown in his debut season as manager, he has recently failed to live up to expectations especially after the massive pay increase last summer.

The Blues head coach, on Friday, said he wanted to exhaust his Chelsea deal at the West London club despite several claims of him leaving the club. However, he disclosed that the way to clean up this rumours would be for the board to release a public statement backing him, a rare action at Stamford Bridge.
