Liverpool set to go to war for 29-year-old quality forward – report

According to British media reports, Merseyside giants Liverpool FC are set to join the Manchester clubs in the transfer race to land Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez this New Year.

The Daily Mirror is claiming that Liverpool are now looking at the possibility of making a winter move to sign the 29-year-old Chilean international to the Anfield Stadium after having offloaded Philippe Coutinho to FC Barcelona a week ago.

The same publication states Liverpool FC have “no concerns” about paying Arsenal’s £35million asking price for the attacker after having amassed a massive transfer fee from the Catalan club for The Brazil international.

The reports say that the Reds manager Jurgen Klopp has admitted that the club will have to spend huge if they want to win the title.

And the report suggests that talks are currently ongoing between Reds owners and the tactician to try and seek a way to land Sanchez this month.

The player’s Arsenal future has been a source of rumour recently after entering into the last six months of his Arsenal contract.

The Arsenal attacking midfielder has been strongly linked with both Manchester City and City rivals Manchester United in recent days but it looks like Liverpool FC could also join the race to secure his signature this winter.
