After Losing Bonucci – Chelsea Can Now Sign This Defender For £35M

AS Roma star defender Kostas Manolas have emerged as a target for both Chelsea and Juventus this summer, and he appears destined to leave his current club before the commencement of the upcoming campaign.

And it seems Chelsea now have the chance to sign him following reports that Juve have cooled their interest in the Greece international.

After signing Antonio Rudiger this summer, it appears Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is still keen on signing another centre-back, and Manolas has been identified as a good signing.

And considering John Terry, Nathan Ake, Kurt Zouma, and Nathaniel Chalobah won’t feature in Conte’s squad for next season,we can justify that the Italian boss would bring in more than one defender this summer.

There were speculations that the Stamford Bridge club were preparing a move for Manolas last month, and now the premier league champions may have been handed a new opportunity with reports that Juventus appear to have pulled out of a deal.

Italian news outlet Tuttosport reports that the Greek defender is too expensive for the Turin club for £35million, though that put off Conte’s from getting his signature.

Earlier this summer, Chelsea were heavily linked with the now former Juventus defender Leonardo Bonucci, but the Italian ignored the opportunity to reunite with his former manager at Stamford Bridge, and opted to join AC Milan instead.
