Ross Barkley was heavily linked with a move away from Everton during the past summer transfer window, but the talented player remained at the Goodison Park for the campaign.
Ross was linked with a handful of top English clubs including Tottenham, Chelsea and Manchester United, and he is expected to leave Everton before the closure of the ongoing winter transfer window.
According to reports by mirror, premier league champions Chelsea are still keen on getting his signature, but Mauricio Pochettino’s side are favourites to sign him if he leaves Everton this month.
The versatile midfielder was superb for the Toffees last season, playing 32 games and scoring five goals with nine assists.
He will be out of contract at Everton this June and is yet to put pen on paper to extend his stay at Goodison Park.
Ross is yet to play a single game for Everton this term due to injuries, although he is getting better and should soon return to the pitch.
In December, there were widespread speculations that the Toffees would demand £20 Million for the player if they are to allow him to leave in January.
The Englishman is a talented player who can add more quality to whichever club he will play for, and Chelsea must act fast if they are to beat Tottenham for his signature.
