Deal On: West Ham In Pole Position To Sign £30m Liverpool Target

London club West Ham United are reportedly the front-runners in the race to sign FC Porto striker Moussa Marega during this summer’s transfer window.

The Hammers’ status as the favourites for the player’s signature was confirmed by Portuguese media outlet Record which claimed that they are in charge of the £30m race to sign Marega.

Champions League finalists Liverpool have previously been linked with the player but the Reds will have to play second fiddle to West Ham United.

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge will leave the club this summer after the expiration of his contract and the Reds will most definitely be in the market for the likes of Marega to replace him.

Moussa Marega has been in good form for FC Porto in both the league and the Champions League this term.

He has scored 45 goals in almost 100 appearances for the Portuguese champions.

FC Porto were knocked out of the Champions League by Liverpool at the quarterfinal stage, while they are two points off league leaders and rivals Benfica with just one game to play.

Malian international Marega is expected to play a big part for his country at the 2019 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament in Egypt as from next month.
