Done Deal!!! Arsenal make first confirmation ahead of summer window

The emerging reports claim that North London outfit are sure to seal a deal their former player Edu as the new technical director as an agreement has already been reached in principle.

The Gunners team have long been in the search for a new technical director after their head of recruitment Sven Mislintat left the club over policy clashes with other club chiefs.

A number of names have been liked with the position with former AS Roma chief Monchi and Marc Overmars also linked but the deal did not fall through.

How former star failed Arsenal in Sven Mislintat replacement search

It is now confirmed that the Gunners will have Edu at the club as soon as the Copa America ends on 7 July as e currently works with the Brazilian FA.

Edu was an Arsenal player between 2001 and 2005 and he won two league titles within the time frame, alongside two FA Cups.

It is therefore expected that he comes in to help his former team but there are suggestions that he would have another meeting with the Arsenal chiefs to be able to finalize the details of the contract and to know his plan.

However, Edu will have the coming summer transfer window as his first challenge and assignment, knowing that the club will sign new players.
