Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata has revealed his frustrations at his lack of chances at the Santiago Bernabeu this season.
The Spaniard has not been able to nail a starting place at Real, making just 13 appearances in the La Liga games this term, falling down the pecking order as the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema have been preferred in the central striking role.
Despite his reduced role at the Santiago Bernabeu, Morata has netted 20 goals for Real Madrid and even scored a brace in their 4-0 victory over Granada last Saturday.
After the game, Morata said: ‘I’m not thinking about vindicating myself,
‘I want to win the League and Champions League like everyone else.
‘It’s going to be difficult, but if we win all our remaining games, we’ll be champions in two competitions.
‘I’d like to play in every game, like everybody else. You always want to contribute wherever you are.
‘I always want to go out and score, but there are times when you can’t.
‘Playing less than I hoped? Sure, but I’m always ready for when the coach needs me and that’s the important thing.’
There have been speculations that Manchester United are one of the several clubs vying for the striker’s signature this summer, as Jose Mourinho remains keen on adding striking reinforcements this summer.
