Better than coutinho? Creative midfielder set to join Liverpool this summer

Liverpool and Premier League rivals Manchester United are interested in landing Switzerland international attacker and Stoke playmaker Xherdan Shaqiri in the current transfer window.

Liverpool to battle Man United

A few days back, British publication The Sun reported exclusively that Portuguese tactician Jose Mourinho wants to complete the signing the Ex-Bayern Munich footballer for the Old Trafford side.

However, recently, it has been claimed that the Reds are leading the transfer race to sign the 26-year-old attacking midfielder.

As per Mirror Sport, the Merseyside giants are favorites to sign Shaqiri, who could be brought in for a transfer fee of 13 million pounds after the Stoke got relegated from the English Premier League last season.

Stoke ready to sell

The British publication have mentioned that Manchester United want the attacking midfielder as well but the Reds have certainly done all the running.

It is also mentioned that the English Championship side are looking to bring in a quality player on loan so as to sell their most prized asset.

Last term, the former FC Basel playmaker was Stoke’s best player, he played in 36 English Premier League matches and contributed directly in 15 goals.

The €36,000-weekly attacker is a versatile player, who can also play on either the right or left flank and has all that it takes to further strengthen the quality and depth of the Reds attack.
