Manchester United star player Paul Pogba admits that he hopes Alexandre Lacazette won’t be available for Arsenal when both sides clash at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.
The striker picked an injury during Arsenal’s 5-0 thrashing of Huddersfield Town in the premier league on Wednesday, and manager Arsene Wenger has admitted he could be out for a while.
The Frenchman moved to North London in the summer for a whopping £53million and he has quickly settled to life at the club and in England.
He has been able to score seven goals in 15 appearances for his new side.
And speaking ahead of the Saturday game, Man United midfielder Paul Pogba admits Lacazette has been ‘great’ at Arsenal this season, and that it would be a boost for his own side if the center forward couldn’t feature for the gunners this weekend.
“I hope for us that [Alexandre] doesn’t play because that will help us” the former Juventus midfielder admits.
Pogba’s side have won their last three English top flight matches but are still eight points behind league leaders Manchester City ahead of the crucial clash with Lacazette’s side.
Pep Guardiola’s men grabbed a late winner against Southampton on Wednesday night to establish themselves at the top of the table.
