French Ligue 1 strugglers AS Monaco are plotting a loan bid for Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi ahead of the upcoming transfer window scheduled to start as from the 1st of next month.
Belgian international attacker Batshuayi is on a season-long loan deal at Spanish La Liga giants Valencia at the moment.
The 25-year-old has not enjoyed the best of times at the Mestalla and recent reports claim that Valencia want to terminate his loan contract midway into the deal.
He has been restricted to just four league outings this season with most of his appearances coming in the cup competitions.
His Valencia loan stint is in stark contrast to the one he enjoyed while he was on a short-term loan to German Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund throughout the second half of last season.
The loan termination at Valencia could pave the way for Monaco to swoop in for the Belgian striker.
The Monaco interest was revealed by French media portal Get French Football News.
Principality club Monaco are fighting relegation in the French top flight and manager Thierry Henry is targeting quality additions in the January transfer window.
The Arsenal legend is no stranger to the aforementioned Batshuayi having worked with him while he was the assistant manager in the Belgian national team setup.
