After wrapping up the season without a single trophy, Manchester United fans are hoping their side will splash lots of cash to sign superb players this summer.
Manager Jose Mourinho is obviously displeased with the performance of his men this term, and there are claims the Portuguese tactician has lost faith in his current team.
The former Chelsea boss is particular about signing a left-back this summer to replace an ageing Ashely Young at Old Trafford – and Juventus star player Alex Sandro has been heavily and consistently linked with the club in recent times.
However, to be realistic, it is unlikely the Serie A side will allow the South American star to leave Turin this summer. The Italian champions are currently lacking in depth and are expected to hold on to some of their top players.
Instead of Sandro, Mourinho should focus on signing Jordi Alba from Barcelona.
The talented player joined the Camp Nou club from Valencia in 2012 and has evolved into one of the best in the continent.
The £54m-rated defender played 33 games for the La Liga champions last term and has proved he has what it takes to add value to Mourinho’s team.
It is understood the 29-year-old is currently unsettled at the club – which can actually open the door for a move this summer.
