Arsenal set to beat Chelsea with special connection to priority target

According to reports, Arsenal are also interested in Luis Enrique, a Chelsea managerial target, if they eventually decide to part ways with Frenchman Arsene Wenger when the season ends.

Chelsea want Enrique

As reported by Mundo Deportivo, the ex-Barcelona manager is a primary target for Chelsea Billionaire owner Roman Abramovich, though Arsenal are also interested and may have a special connection to hand them an edge in the transfer tussle.

The specual connection is Arsenal’s recent appointment of ex-Barcelona sporting director Raul Sanllehi, who joined the North London club as head of football relations back in November.

Fantastic spell at Barcelona

Spaniard Enrique performed pretty well during his playing time as Barcelona manager and without doubt he would prove a good appointment for any top English Premier League side.

Recently, the Daily Star reported that the tactician had already agreed personal terms to replace current manager Antonio Conte at Stamford Bridge in the summer, while it’s even been claimed he might even join earlier.

Increased pressure

Antonio Conte is under increased pressure after some run of poor results in recent times, and the same publication suggested he could quickly join the club to rescue as long as he’s assured the signing of starlet Marco Asensio from Real Madrid.
