Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has asked Arsenal star striker Alexandre Lacazette to fight harder and revive his form at the London club.
The former Lyon striker struggled to make a meaningful impact in his side’s 1-0 defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
Harry Kane scored the only goal in the 49th-minute to earn Mauricio Pochettino all three points at the London Derby.
Alexandre was introduced into the game in the 65th minute, and he saw a good opportunity to make it 1-1 before full-time – but he, unfortunately fired wide.
Lacazette was very much superb at Lyon before moving to Arsenal in the summer of 2016. He quickly settled to life at the Emirates last term, but he is currently struggling at the club and has lost his place in Wenger’s starting line up to Pierre-Emerick Aubemeyang.
And speaking recently about the player, former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand believes the Frenchman is struggling mentally due to the arrival of Aubemeyang, and he is also short of confidence.
Rio, however, charged Lacazette to fight harder and ignore Aubameyang’s presence at the club.
After dropping even more points at Wembley on Saturday, Arsenal must work harder if they are to secure a spot in next season’s Champions League.
