Deal Close – Liverpool Set To Secure €55million Signing

Phillipe Coutinho is finally out of Anfield, and there are reports Liverpool are close to signing a replacement for the samba star.

According to Bein Sports France, the Merseyside club are almost done completing a deal for Leicester City’s Riyad Mahrez.

The Algerian international is expected to undergo a medical at Liverpool today, and it was said that the player will sign a four-year deal that will keep him at Anfield until 2022.

It was also added that Jurgen Klopp’s side will pay €55 million for his signature.

Klopp is expected to sign a superb player to replace Countiho before the end of the ongoing winter transfer window, and Riyad has been identified as a good guy for the job.

Two seasons back, the African star player became the first player from the continent to win the premier league player of the year award.

He is a versatile player who can effectively play as a right winger and in the central attacking midfield role too.

If Mahrez ends up joining Liverpool, manager Jurgen Klopp is expected to make some adjustments in his starting XI at the club, and we are likely to see something close to a 4-2-3-1 system (where the trio of Mane, Mahrez and Salah) will begin playing behind the lone centre forward Roberto Firmino.
