Finally, Klopp Seal 1st January Transfer For Liverpool

Virgil Van Dijk was heavily linked with a move away from the St Mary’s Stadium during the summer transfer window after emerging as a target for Liverpool, but the Saints refused to let go of him.

However, the Anfield club have finally got the talented Dutchman and have confirmed that they have agreed to a deal with the Saints to bring Van Dijk down to Anfield in January.

The reds will play Burnley on New Year Day, and the former Celtic defender will be eligible to play for his new side in the game.

According to the Guardian, the Merseyside club have agreed on £75million fee with Southampton and have offered the Dutchman a five and a half year contract that will see him earn £180,000 each week at Anfield.

Van Dijk has evolved into one of the best central defenders in England and has caught the attention of a handful of top clubs across Europe.

He was in top class form for Southampton last season before sustaining an injury that made him missed the second half of the term.

This season so far, he has played 12 times in the premier league for the Saints, but wasn’t superb like what we saw him did the last term. It is believed he was simply fed up with life at St Mary’s and was simply trying to push his way out of the club.

Is he good enough to solve the ongoing defensive dilemma at Liverpool?
