Arsenal are allegedly ready to pay about £44m to complete the move of Atletico Madrid forward Yannick Carrasco, as per Mundo Deportivo.
Proven striker
The Belgium international forward shone like million stars against the Gunners in the UEFA Champions League some years back whilst still at French side Monaco, netting the third goal in a 3-1 victory for the side.
The forward has since performed pretty well in the La Liga, though he no longer looks sure of his spot in Diego Simeone’s starting line up, leading to doubts over his future at the club.
Arsenal keen on striker
Reports now suggest the North London outfit are keen and prepared to pay up the asking price for the 24-year-old striker this summer, with French tactician Arsene Wenger still a big fan of the forward after watching him perform well against his team.
Reinforcement required
It’s crystal clear Arsenal could do with reinforcement up front after offloading both attackers, Alexis Sanchez and Theo Walcott this January.
Armenia international Henrikh Mkhitaryan has signed, but Carrasco would add more width in attack and looks good value if £44million proves sufficient to convince his club to cash in.
Mundo Deportivo also states that Serie A giants Juventus are also keen on Carrasco, who has a buyout clause of £88million.
