Chelsea manager expects winter arrivals with quality striker a top priority

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte has disclosed that he expects the West London club to sign in new players in January, with the Independent claiming that the Italian tactician has prioritized bringing in a forward who can play anywhere up front.

The Chelsea boss was slightly left frustrated with the transfer business done in the summer window and wants to reinforce his team in the New Year.

The former Italy head coach is looking to sign a striker as he has incredibly struggled real bad during the absence of summer signing Alvaro Morata. Belgian international attacking midfielder Eden Hazard has had to be deployed as a ‘false nine’ of recent and the former Juventus head coach wants to sign a forward to cover for the Spain international striker.

Antonio Conte said: “A tough period is beginning, especially for every side, for every manager. At the point in the year there are lots of speculations. I [Antonio Conte} think the best way for me [Conte] is not to read [any rumour] and then try to reinforce our team if this is possible. If, I [Conte] repeat, this is possible.”

The West London side are currently placed third in the English Premier League log and are 14 points adrift table-topping Manchester City.
