Chelsea Set To Frustrate Arsenal, Liverpool Ahead Of Summer With New Strategy

As the summer transfer window draws nearer, lots of players are already linked with different clubs. There are no exception in the premier league, as players like Southampton star defender Virgil Van Dijk have been linked with a host of top English clubs.

As this season approaches it end, the duo of Liverpool and Arsenal have been seriously linked with Van Dijk, and it was recently reported that the two clubs had met with his advisers already.

However, considering the latest news circulating about the Dutch defender, it appears premier league table leaders Chelsea are set to frustrate both clubs when the summer window eventually comes.

According to the Sun, the Stamford Bridge club are so confident that they can get Van Dijk if, apart from paying the fee for the £50million rated star, they include one of their players in the person of Andreas Christensen to Southampton to sweeten the deal.

Virgil has been a top quality player for Southampton since moving to the club. And even though injury ruined his campaign, it never stopped top clubs searching for his signature.

Next season will be a very busy one for Antonio Conte and his Chelsea side, especially considering that they will play in the Champions League. Since English legend John Terry is officially leaving the West London club at the end of this season, the Italian manager needs to add more power to his defense department ahead of the campaign ahead.
