Hero Not Pleased With Two Man United Stars For Display Against Newcastle

Manchester United ended their superb run of clean sheets at home when Newcastle United scored a goal at Old Trafford on Saturday.

And club legend Rio Ferdinand is blaming the duo of Paul Pogba and Nemanja Matic for the goal scored by the visitors during the game that eventually ended 4-1.

Pogba returned to first team actions against Rafa Benitez’s side, having finally recovered from the injury that got him sidelined for close to three months.

Manchester United haven’t conceded in their five previous top-flight games at Old Trafford, but Dwight Gayle took advantage of an error from Victor Lindelof to find the back of the net on Saturday.

And while the former Benfica defender was glaringly at fault for the goal, club legend Rio chose to blame both Pogba and Matic for allowing the move to build in first place.

According to Ferdinand, the midfielders are meant to help and should ‘snuff out’ any danger building against the defense.

However, Paul was able to make amends by creating the equaliser scored by Martial before scoring another goal early in the second half.

Despite winning Rafa Benitez’s side gallantly, the red devils are still trailing behind Manchester City with eight points, after Pep Guardiola’s side thrashed Leicester City 2-0 at the Kings Power Stadium.
