Arsenal set to announce deal for new club Sporting Director

Premier League side Arsenal are ready to seal a deal for Michael Zorc as their new sporting director.

British Tabloid the Mirror reports the North London club are set to announce Zorc as the club’s director as a complete overhaul of the entire recruitment team continues to happen at the club.

Reports recently claimed that Steve Rowley, the Gunners head of player recruitment, will be relieved from his role to be replaced by head scout of Borussia Dortmund Sven Mislintat.

It now seems as though Sven Mislintat will have his co-worker, Zorc, joining him. He is currently on Borussia Dortmund’s books.

Discussions have been widespread since the summer transfer window with regards to the Gunners appointing as sporting director to support Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger more with recruitment and the smooth running of the Emirates club.

Ajax football Director Marc Overmars has been identified and considered for the Arsenal job but it seems as though Zorc is the favoured candidate to apply his experience at Arsenal to help them return to where they belong at the top.

The Gunners finished below top four last season, which automatically ruled them out of Champions League football this season, and that has been blamed on poor recruitment process. Arsene Wenger has been in charge of recruitment at the club.
