De Gea Discourages Arsenal Target Kepa Arrizabalaga From Moving To London

Athletic Bilbao shot-stopper Kepa Arrizabalaga has been superb at his club in recent times, and his impressive performances in-between the sticks has seen him emerged as a target for a handful of top European clubs including Real Madrid and Arsenal.

However, Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea wants his countryman to stay in Spain as he continues his development at Bilbao.

De Gea believes Kepa would be best served staying in the La Liga, and should ignore any move away from the country.

Arrizabalaga is rated as one of the most promising goalies in the continent and has been very much linked with Real Madrid and Arsenal in recent weeks.

And De Gea, hailing the 23-year-old as a ‘great goalkeeper’, believes he has a ‘long career ahead of him’, and that staying in Spain would be of much benefits to him.

The Manchester United star, speaking ahead of his country’s 3-3 draw with Russia on Tuesday evening, said all Spanish players who left the country are not followed as much as those that are playing in the country.

“People forget a little bit about us” De Gea, who signed from La Liga side Atletico Madrid in 2011, said.

Kepa, who made his debut for Athletic Bilbao’s first-team in 2015, is understood to be needed by premier league side Arsenal.

However, despite speculations surrounding him, the youngster, who has kept three clean sheets in 11 games so far this term, said he is ‘keeping calm’, and his only focus right now is with his national side.
