Arsenal are considering a shock move for Borussia Dortmund centre-back Sokratis Papastathopoulos according to reports

The Gunners have been linked with a number of names this summer transfer window, with reports that Arsene Wenger is not taking chances after missing out on the Champions League for the first time in twenty years and have started searching for quality additions to his current squad.

Reports in Goal.com suggest that Arsenal are looking at the chances of luring Papastathopoulous to the Emirates this summer but will have to beat Chelsea who have also been credited with a signature in the defender.

The Greek defender who arrived Borussia Dortmund in 2013, making 155 appearances for the Bundesliga giants have been linked with a summer exit after getting frustrated at his lack of chances at the club.

It is understood that the 29-year-old is considering a summer move and have alerted the duo of Antonio Conte and Arsene Wenger who are looking to bolster their respective squad this summer.

Although there has been no official approach from any of the English giants, it is understood that there is an interest from them.
