Arsenal set to complete €40m signing of superstar amid Tottenham’s interest

Arsenal head coach Unai Emery has set his eye on landing FC Barcelona star Andre Gomes, as per media reports.

Renowned Italian football journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has said that the Catalan midfielder is on the wishlist of the new Arsenal boss.

The report suggests the Gunners are leading the pursuit for the midfielder who will not be offloaded for anything less than €40m this current window.

The Independent have also suggested Andre Gomes is a transfer target for the North London side and with the Gunners budget tight, the Spanish tactician is set to cash in on some players to sign the exciting 24-year-old central midfielder.

Tottenham also mentioned
The midfielder started only six Spanish La Liga matches last term, but Unai Emery feels the Ex-Valencia midfielder can help transform the Gunners midfield after the exits of England international Jack Wilshere and Spaniard Santi Cazorla.

Di Marzio suggests North London rivals Tottenham Hotspurs are also keen on the Barcelona player, who is contracted to the Catalan side until the summer of 2021 and who’s buyout clause is thought to be a staggering £86million.

Barca are thought to be hoping for a number of bids from England so they can recoup about €35million fee they paid La Liga side Valencia for the midfielder.
