Man United Planning To Beat Chelsea To Top Target By Devising New Strategy

One of the hottest prospects in the Premier League right now is Everton star forward Romelu Lukaku. He has been linked with Chelsea and Manchester United, and both are expected to break the bank to get his signature.

Even though the Belgium international had been projected to move to Chelsea and ignore Man United, Jose Mourinho’s is busy devising means to bring him to Old Trafford.

Right now, the red devils are reportedly ready to persuade Everton to do business by offering Wayne Rooney as part of the deal. This would be done with the hope of beating Chelsea to the Belgian’s signature.

Since one of their major targets Antoine Griezmann has decided to stay put at Atletico Madrid, United have increased their interest in Lukaku as they remain desperate in their attempt to get a superb replacement for Swede legend Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Griezmann had been a long-time Man United target and was even expected to complete a move to Old Trafford during the past winter transfer window. However, Mourinho’s side have since been linked with an initial approach to Lukaku’s club over his signing.

Everton reportedly wants £100 million for the striker, but Man United will hope the price can be lessened when they include Rooney in the deal.

24-year-old Lukaku scored 25 Premier League goals in the just concluded season and missed out on the Golden Boot to Tottenham striker Harry Kane.
