Sad news for Arsenal as club suffer major setback in pursuit of £90million star

Arsenal and Premier League rivals Liverpool have suffered a major blow in their chase of AS Monaco and France international Wideman Thomas Lemar, after the club’s vice-president said that the French Ligue 1 club have not discussed with the player or his representative about leaving the French club next month, claiming a January transfer is not on the cards for the youngster.

This is as per the Daily Star, who suggest that both the Reds and the Gunners, as well as Chelsea, are all keen on signing Lemar, 22, but AS Monaco vice-president, Vadim Vasilyev has claimed that the French club have not discussed about the possibility of a winter exit for the star.

According to the Sun, Monaco value him at £90million, so it seems that if Monaco are going to offload the winger, they’re ready to get a heavy financial windfall in return.

In 107 matches for the French side, he has been able to score 21 goals and made 26 assists, a good feat for a young player.

Last term, he played a key role in Monaco’s route to Ligue 1 title success, as the youngster netted nine and made 11 assists in 34 matches.

His brilliant crosses from the flank and lightning pace has seen some tag him as one of Europe’s most exciting young talents.
