Finally, Juan Mata Exposed The Reason Chelsea Sold Him To Manchester United

Manchester United Star Revealed The Real Reason Why Chelsea Sold Him To Old Trafford

Former Chelsea player and current Manchester United star Juan Mata has talked about his Chelsea exit.

In January 2014, Mata was allowed to swap Stamford Bridge for Old Trafford. The £37.1m move came after the Spanish international fell down the midfield pecking order under former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho.

The 28-year-old has however successfully established himself as a key part of Mourinho’s plans at Old Trafford.

And right now, Mata has revealed why he thinks the Stamford Bridge club opted to sell him to  Manchester United three years ago, stressing that United’s financial package convinced Chelsea to sell him.

“Sometimes in life and in football as well, change comes and you have to embrace it.

“When Jose came I was not playing a lot. I had the chance to go to another great club and it was a good offer for Chelsea as well so that’s how it worked.

“No, [there was no fall out], no I think it was a football reason or a style or something like that but we never had a personal problem.

“We are working together now and it’s going fine.” Mata told the BBC’s Premier League Show

Both Mata and the boss Mourinho will come up against their old club when Manchester United clash with Chelsea in the FA Cup on Monday March 13.

The Old Trafford club have signed some huge stars throughout the years and has also came close to completing some even bigger transfers. We look forward to their activities come summer.
